Lookup SCORE Jail Inmates

South Correctional Entity (SCORE) is the regional jail that serves many San Juan County custody searches after local holding ends. A SCORE jail inmate lookup is the main online path when a person from San Juan County remains in custody after transfer. Use the roster search for current jail status, booking history, release information, and related custody notices. SCORE is separate from state prison, federal prison, and immigration detention systems, so the correct search depends on where the person is being held.

SCORE Jail Overview

South Correctional Entity, also known as SCORE Jail, is a public regional adult jail in Des Moines. It is run by the South Correctional Entity Public Development Authority and owned by the cities of Auburn, Burien, Des Moines, Renton, SeaTac, and Tukwila. It is not a private jail. San Juan County names SCORE as the facility where in-custody people awaiting trial or serving jail sentences are sent after the local Friday Harbor holding stage.

SCORE is therefore a key facility for San Juan County inmate population searches, even though it is outside San Juan County. Its public pages provide the custody lookup, current roster, recent bookings, recent releases, scheduled court events, mail rules, bail instructions, phone and commissary vendors, release information, medical contact points, and public-records process. The county's own holding facility does not publish those regional jail services.

The image below comes from the official SCORE home page and identifies the regional jail, address, ownership role, and main public contact point.

That regional identity is why San Juan County searches often move from the Sheriff's Office to SCORE after the first local custody period.

SCORE Roster Search

The SCORE Jail Inmate Lookup System is the correct online lookup for people transferred into SCORE. The lookup home page provides separate tools for the inmate roster, recent bookings, recent releases, scheduled court events, and booking-history search. SCORE states that its system provides information such as bookings, offense and bail information, scheduled court events, and inmate information search. The pages also display update timestamps, which should be checked when a transfer or release is recent.

  1. Open the SCORE Jail Inmate Lookup System.
  2. Choose Inmate Roster for a person believed to be in current SCORE custody.
  3. Choose Recent Bookings for newly booked people or new transfers into SCORE.
  4. Choose Recent Releases if the person may have left SCORE during the last day.
  5. Use Search for older booking or release history, then refine by name or name number if too many results appear.

The lookup screenshot below comes from the official SCORE Jail Inmate Lookup System and shows the public choices San Juan County users need after transfer.

SCORE Jail Contact

Use SCORE's direct contact information for SCORE-held custody, bail, release, programs, medical contacts, public disclosure, and facility directions. SCORE's official directions warn that GPS and common mapping tools may be inaccurate and list a separate entrance GPS address. The mailing street address is still the core facility address used for the regional jail and inmate mail format.

SCORE Jail Visits

SCORE uses Securus video visitation. The official SCORE visitation page says all visitors must register online, and visits must be scheduled at least twenty-four hours in advance and no more than seven days in the future. Same-day visits are not allowed. Visitors provide full name, date of birth, and a valid email address during registration.

Visitation ItemSCORE Rule
VendorSecurus video visitation
SchedulingAt least 24 hours ahead and no more than 7 days ahead
Same-day visitsNot allowed
Daily windowsSunday through Saturday, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m.
Visit lengthInternet visits are scheduled in 25-minute increments
LockdownDisciplinary or safety lockdown may suspend visits

Late starts still use the scheduled visit time, and visits do not restart because a visitor arrives late. Visitor or inmate cancellations may be made up to twenty-four hours in advance. A cancellation with less notice counts as a visit, while a SCORE-initiated lockdown cancellation does not count as the weekly visit. Conservative dress is strongly encouraged for lobby and internet visits.

SCORE Mail Rules

SCORE mail must include a sender return address and the inmate's full name and name number. The official SCORE mail page says incoming and outgoing mail is opened and checked for contraband. Legal mail, clearly identified as attorney or court mail about the current case, is treated differently from ordinary mail. Mail rules are strict, so send only items the facility allows.

Mail TopicSCORE Detail
Address formatInmate Full Name and Name Number, SCORE Jail, 20817 17th Avenue South, Des Moines, WA 98198
Required sender dataReturn address on the mail piece
Generally acceptedLetters, legal mail, some documents, newspaper clippings, approved photos, and publications sent by publisher or licensed retailer
Rejected examplesCash, checks, money orders, stamps, blank paper, stickers, food, glitter, glued items, colored paper, and sexually explicit material

San Juan County users should not send mail to the Friday Harbor holding facility unless the Sheriff's Office gives current instructions. Once a person is held at SCORE, use SCORE's name number in the address. The name number appears in SCORE roster results and is also important for deposits and other account services.

SCORE Phone and Money

SCORE's phone and commissary page names Securus Technologies for phone service, iCARE for commissary gifts, and TouchPay for inmate trust-account deposits. Inmates cannot receive incoming calls. They place outbound calls, and prepaid accounts may reduce blocked collect-call issues. SCORE warns families not to use iCaregift.NET because it is not tied to the facility's commissary vendor.

SCORE Bail and Release

After San Juan County transfers a person to SCORE, bail may be handled at SCORE if the person is held there and the court has set bail. The official SCORE bail page says bail is accepted at the reception window in the lobby during weekday window hours. After hours, use the intercom next to the main jail lobby entrance. Bail may be posted with cash or with a bond from an authorized bail bond company.

Bail or Release TopicSCORE Detail
Lobby window8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
After hoursUse the after-hours intercom at the main jail lobby entrance
Cash bailAccepted and forwarded to the court that ordered bail
Surety bondBail bond company fee is generally 8 to 15 percent and not refundable, per SCORE
Release timing after bailMay take two to six hours depending on timing and pending releases

SCORE also has a scam alert about callers falsely claiming to be SCORE employees and asking families for money for release. Use SCORE's published phone number for questions about posting bond or release services. Bail-refund questions go to the court because SCORE forwards bail to the court that set it.

SCORE Public Records

SCORE public disclosure is the records channel for SCORE-held jail records. The official SCORE public-records page accepts requests in person, by phone, by fax, or by email, with written requests preferred but not required. The records email is PublicRecords@SCOREJailWA.gov. SCORE says there is no charge to inspect records, and copying may be charged at fifteen cents per page.

SCORE cites RCW 70.48.100, which limits jail-record disclosure. Public jail-register information may include name, booking and release timing, booking reason, and release reason. A full jail file, medical record, security record, or booking photo request may be reviewed, limited, or denied under Washington law. SCORE also states it will respond within five business days by providing the record, denying it, asking for clarification, or giving a reasonable date for further response.

The screenshot below comes from the SCORE public-records page and shows the disclosure process and jail-record limits used for transferred San Juan County custody records.

SCORE DOC BOP ICE

SCORE is a regional jail, not the Washington State Department of Corrections, not the federal Bureau of Prisons, and not ICE. A San Juan County person awaiting trial or serving a jail sentence may appear at SCORE. A person sentenced to state prison should be searched through the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC) locator. A person in federal prison should be searched through the BOP inmate locator. Immigration custody belongs in the ICE detainee locator.

Washington DOCState-sentenced prison custodyDOC number, name, age, location
BOPFederal prison custody from 1982 to presentRegister number, name, age, race, sex, release date, location
ICEImmigration detentionICE locator data separate from jail and prison rosters

No DOC prison, BOP facility, or ICE detention center was located in San Juan County in the official source sweep. That finding does not rule out a later transfer out of SCORE. It only means SCORE is the regional jail channel, while DOC, BOP, and ICE are separate systems used when the custody type changes.

Note: Confirm current custody through SCORE before scheduling visits, sending money, or traveling to Des Moines.
